Sarah is a second year student on the Substance Use and Mental Health track. She holds a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Oxford, and an M.A. in Philosophy from NYU. Her previous academic work focused on the philosophy of science and language: Her MA thesis explored the extent to which scientific inquiry is value-laden, and whether logical, linguistic, and mathematical values take methodological priority over ethical or political ones. Her current research interests lie at the intersection of language, psychopathology, and maladaptive belief formation. Outside of the Human Language and Development Lab, she is a clinical extern at a treatment center specializing in substance use disorders.
